“Livable Thurston, The Thurston Co League of Women Voters and Thurston Conservation Voters invite the public to hear Tim Trohimovich, Planning Director and attorney for the grassroots citizen group Futurewise, explain the recent Court of Appeals decision regarding Thurston Countys rural zoning.
Mr. Trohimovich has more than 20 years of growth management experience, most recently as Comprehensive Planning Division Manager at the City of Redmond, where he participated in GMA appeals and worked with citizens, elected officials, and planners. Tim has also worked extensively on land use issues as hearing examiner in McCleary and Elma, as a Legal Planner for the Department of Ecology, and in Grays Harbor. He is AICP certified and is a member of the Washington and Oregon State Bar Associations.
Where: Traditions Cafe, 300 5th t Ave in downtown Olympia
When: April 16th at 5:30pm.
A representative from Thurston County was invited to speak but declined the invitation.
Questions still loom, for example: Can both sides claim victory? Will the rural rezone go forward? Does the County employ “innovative zoning techniques” effectively enough to curb sprawl and protect drinking water? Will there be appeals?
Please come and bring your questions.
Contact: Eve Johnson 754-1445, Lisa Remlinger 970-3885, Sandra Romero 357-8131,” quoting their Press Release.
