ADOPT A PET!

ADOPT A PET!
For Thurston County:
“Welcome to Animal Services’ website!

This is where to find information about adopting a pet, animal control, pet care and lots of other stuff.”

The Seattle Humane Society lists other agencies all over Puget Sound.

FAMILY PETS FALL VICTIM TO SUBPRIME CRISIS
Forget about the lost furnishings and finances, the most pitiful victims of the subprime mortgage crisis rocking the United States are the family pets.

Shelters across the country have seen sharp upticks in the number of people giving up their pets in recent months because they have been forced out of their home, quoting My Wire.

  1. this is such an important topic. thank you, yet again, for your work in spreading information. we have two animals left in our neighborhood. we found a home for one so far. it is very sad. my camp is over capacity w/ five animals in our little house as is or i would take more. i will spread the word to neighbors to open their hearts for our furry friends and companions. thanks again steve for all that you do for yelm.

  2. Something needs to be done for the poor dogs that get stuck in the Yelm dog pound. It’s cold, dirty, wet and the cages are too small. The Animal Control does not offer or allow any rescue service, foster service or vet care for injured animals. If a dog is not claimed or adopted by the end of the legal holding period it is sent to Olympia where it is destroyed. AND FOLKS, THERE ARE NO SIGNS IN YELM THAT SAY DOG POUND. SO HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND YOUR LOST DOG!?
