The Office of Washington’s Secretary of State is reporting J. T. Wilcox is leading the vote for Legislative District 2, State Representative Position 2 by 60% over current Rep. Tom Campbell at 40%.
Congratulations to Representative-elect Wilcox!
Mr. Wilcox ran on a platform of change saying on his website:
“Just when we needed the best from our politicians they’ve given us their worst: Tax increases, handouts to special interests and big government programs that we simply can’t afford.
We must take our government back from the politicians.”
This is why I decided to challenge a 16 year incumbent and run for the Washington State House of Representatives. My priorities reflect my values and the needs of our state.
I will:
Work to restore jobs and our economy. As a leader in our family farm I’ve created jobs, my opponent’s voting record is responsible for destroying jobs.
Protect Property Rights. My family’s history proves you can be a strong
steward of the environment and still stand up for private property. I’ve
spent a lifetime managing forest and farm land – coping with invasive government regulations.
Balance the budget without raising taxes. Courage is in short supply in Olympia and taxpayers are paying the price.”
WE WISH REP-ELECT WILCOX WELL IN HIS ENDEAVORS REPRESENTING US & COUNT ON HIS COMMITMENT TO REPRESENT ALL CONSTITUENTS WITH INTEGRITY & WITHOUT BIAS.
I hope to meet with Mr. Wilcox soon for an interview and share his vision with Blog readers.
The Olympian’s Brad Shannon reported this morning :
“The exact effect of Tuesday’s initiative votes still is being sorted out at the state Capitol, but one thing is known: Budget writers in Olympia have deeper spending cuts to make.”
Mr. Wilcox will have to “get-up-to-speed” from day one with a $4.5 billion budget shortfall already predicted for next year.
Rep. Tom Campbell issued this statement:
Dear Friends,
today we face the reality that my struggle for the People and Issues of the 2nd District will end in January. I have always put you first and will cherish my time as your Representative. The 16 years were filled with wins and losses but always the knowledge that I compromised nothing in seeking solutions on your behalf. I humbly thank everyone for their help, encouragement and kind words. May God Bless our State and Nation. Thank you for the honor to have served you. If I can be of help in the remaining time left be assured I will help in any way that I can. Feel free to call my Olympia office if needed.
Rep. Tom Campbell, DC
THANK YOU FOR YOUR FINE PUBLIC SERVICE, REP. CAMPBELL!
YOUR LEADERSHIP IN THIS DISTRICT WILL BE SORELY MISSED.
I HOPE MR. WILCOX CALLS ON YOUR ADVICE & COUNSEL AS HE WORKS THROUGH A VERY CHALLENGING LEGISLATIVE SESSION.
OUR BEST TO YOU AND YOUR WIFE LYNN IN YOUR FUTURE UNDERTAKINGS…
