The State Column reports:
“With his proud family and friends watching, J.T. Wilcox, R-Yelm, Monday [Jan. 10] swore to: ‘uphold the Constitution and laws of the United States of America, the Constitution and laws of the State of Washington, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of the office of a Washington State Representative to the best of my ability.’
…Anxious to get to work, Wilcox brings his family farm work ethic to the job and is committed to finding a way to balancing a nearly $6 billion budget shortfall.
Wilcox will serve on four House committees:
Agriculture and Natural Resources (he will serve as assistant ranking Republican)…
Ways and Means …
Education…
General Government Appropriations and Oversight…
‘The challenges our state faces will require us to work together to find solutions that protect taxpayers, job creators and the most vulnerable in our communities,’ Wilcox said.”
This was a bittersweet day for Rep. Wilcox, as his mother’s funeral was Saturday, Jan. 8th, according to the Nisqually Valley News Obit.
THE YELM COMMUNITY BLOG CONGRATULATES REP. WILCOX & LOOKS FORWARD TO REPORTING HIS INVOLVEMENT ON IMPORTANT LEGISLATIVE ISSUES AFFECTING THIS AREA.
