“Yelm History Project website taking off”
Tyler Huey of the Nisqually Valley News penned this story published March 18, 2011:
“For more than 10 years, Yelm High School teacher Ed Bergh has been compiling articles and photos for the Yelm History Project. He just needed a little help to get a professional website up and running.
The Yelm History Project is exactly what it sounds like. It is the story of Yelms history that includes hundreds of articles and photos about the prairie, surrounding forests and Nisqually River….
Now enter Ryan Leisinger, a 1992 Yelm graduate. Leisinger has been working pro bono with Bergh since January 2010 to help get the information online once again.
Leisinger has owned and operated Titan West, a web design and development company out of Olympia, for the past decade. He said a friend told him about what Bergh was trying to accomplish and couldnt resist helping.
‘I grew up in Yelm and have a soft spot for it,’ Leisinger said.
Bergh provides all of the content while Leisinger created/manages the website. One thing Leisinger offers Bergh is a system he can add to.
‘Thats what Ryan is able to do for me,’ Bergh said. ‘I can add pics, text and (receive) questions. Thats really nice.'”
TELL THE YELM HISTORY PROJECT YOU READ ABOUT THEM ON THE YELM COMMUNITY BLOG, AND THOUGH HUEY CHOSE TO OMIT FROM HIS REPORT, THIS BLOG IS PLEASED TO HAVE BEEN A PART OF BRINGING THE HISTORY PROJECT & TITAN WEST TOGETHER FOR THE PUBLIC’S INTEREST ON THIS PROJECT.
