Ready to take part in Earth Day 2011?
Here is how you can get involved:

While Yelm has no activities planned, here are other options to participate nearby:
– Saturday, April 23, Booths and information sharing all day on Solar energy, the Chehalis River Council, Fellowship of Reconcilation, Lewis County emergency preparedness, local organic garedeners, Shaklee cleaning products,etc. Call 740-0492 to participate.

– Saturday, April 23, at 4pm : Gail Tremblay, faculty at The Evergreen State College, poet and artist exhibiting at the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle, will share her work and thoughts in response to the effects of uranium mining on native peoples. John Martens of Centralia College and Dr. Armando Herbelin of Lower Columbia College will then present followed by a panel discussion on nuclear energy

– Saturday, April 23, 8pm- The Walking Willows present an evening of music and devotion to honor the planet we share.
$8 charge for this event to sustain the musicians and the venue.
