– Public Hearing on Marijuana Dispensaries
The Yelm City Council will hold a Public Hearing tomorrow night and then “Adopt Resolution 523 adopting findings of fact and conclusions of law supporting Ordinance 935 establishing a moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries”.

– Downtown Well Construction
“The City of Yelm has started a construction project that involves the installation of a large watermain along Second Street and Mosman. This project will require road closures of 2nd Street and Mosman at various points in the project cycle. Note that local access will be provided to property owners along the corridor, however there will be no through traffic. – Former Saars Marketplace to get new tenant
In what city planners say they call the “Saars Demise” [Tenant demising], the City of Yelm has received an application from Goodwill to divide the Saars Marketplace building into three spaces; one for Goodwill and 2 future retail sites, according to Community Development Dept. Associate Planner Tami Merriman in a presentation to the Yelm Planning Commission on April 18. Merriman said a new third entrance will be required in addition to the current two, to provide access to all three spaces.
Ed. Note: In passing-by last Saturday indeed work was very noticeably underway to up a new wall inside.
