Commissioner Sandra Romero Hosts Monthly Coffees with Area Residents

Please join Thurston County Commissioner Sandra Romero, as she hosts her monthly informal coffee hours in Rainier, Yelm and Lacey on Monday, May 23rd.

Our next guest speaker will be Roads Operations Manager, Jack Lane.
This section of the Countys Public Works Department is responsible for the upkeep and resurfacing of paved and gravel roads, drainage, and roadside vegetation. Winter operations include sanding and plowing of snow and ice impaired roads, supplying sand and sandbags for flood threatened homes and businesses, and monitoring roads for possible closure due to flooding.

Commissioner Romero stated, Our crews also respond to over 1,500 calls per year for everything from removing deceased animals from the roads to clearing fallen trees and branches from windstorms, and
unplugging blocked storm drains and culverts.

Commissioner Romero provides coffee to participants. She is the representative of District 2, which includes Yelm, Lacey, and Rainier.
