“Just a few years ago, Olympia-area cyclists were offered the choice of roads or more roads for their touring pleasure. Not that theres anything wrong with thatthe country lanes around our capitol city are as inviting and uncrowded as youre likely to find within an hour or so of Seattle. But then the upside-down T was created. The bottom half of the grand off-road route through Thurston County is the Yelm-Tenino Trail, which traverses the eastern half of the county and runs through three small towns: Yelm, Rainier, and Tenino. Its an eminently useful and very pleasant amenity,” quoting REI.
