STEWART’S MEATS, YOUR LABOR DAY WEEKEND STOP

From Stewart’s Meats website:
“Emmett Stewart began his family owned business during the 1929 Depression. He maintained a tradition of quality meats at good prices, plus a commitment to customer service. It was not unusual to see Emmet driving down the country roads making deliveries in his old model T pick-up.

Just a short time ago Stewart’s lost Emmett’s daughter, Dorothy, at the age of 95. It was with Dorothy’s guidance and daily help that Stewart’s has thrived over the years. She is missed–and remembered.
Dorothy, began her career in the market in 1933, and was widely recognized as an expert on specialty sausages. Stewart’s still uses Dorothy’s old time secret family recipes. Dorothy’s son Butch and his wife Jeanne–the third generation, and now there are 4 generations actively involved in Stewart’s Meat Market. It was Dorothy’s dream to have her family carry on the Stewart family tradition,

And today her dream is a reality”.

“Grocery stores to stock up on meat”

“For the die-hards, there’s Stewart’s Meat Market in Yelm, located at 17821 State Hwy 507. This butcher shop was founded back in the Depression era. Much of the beef sold is from Stewart’s own herd and the pork mostly comes from near by. The smoked meats all are made from old secret family recipes. Stewart’s (www.stewartsmeatmarket.com) sells everything from everyday meatloaf fixings, hamburgers and smoked meats to fancy foods such as New York and T-Bone steaks, hams and rib roast. For those looking for something much, much different, Stewart’s also sells wild boar, crocodile, turtle, rabbit and python meat.”
