MISS WASHINGTON ON HER YELM CHRISTMAS PARADE APPEARANCE

The Yelm Chamber of Commerce sponsored Yelm Christmas in the Park and the Parade. This year, Miss Washington Lisa Bluhm participated and filed this report on her blog of her experience:

“The Yelm Christmas parade is an amazing event. So many people came out and lined the streets at 9:30 am [Saturday, December 3] in the morning despite the freezing temperatures!! The city of Yelm is so welcoming! After the parade their is a holiday celebration in the park. Everything is FREE!! The cocoa, hot dogs, tacos and photos with Santa!

Our Miss Thurston County Tasia Jungbauer was presented with several awards one of which the fabulous Mayor Ron Harding presented her with a proclamation of Tasia Jungbauer day! July 7th the day that she will compete at the Miss Washington pageant. Mayor Harding’s daughter Janet was Miss Washington 2008 and he and his family support the Miss Washington Scholarship program in many ways.

Yelm truly welcomed us with open hearts and gave us the Royal Treatment! It is a great place to visit and a great place to live!” quoting Lisa Bluhm.

Ed. Note:
The Proclamation of Tasia Jungbauer Day was presented by:

1. Yelm Mayor Ron Harding
2. Yelm Chamber President Ron Harding
