While power has returned to much of Olympia & gas stations there are open, many Lacey, Yelm and vicinity customers of Puget Sound Energy are still without power.
The Mount Rainier chapter of the American Red Cross has opened a Yelm shelter serving those in need during the power outage at:
Yelm Moose Lodge
1117 Yelm Ave. W.
Yelm, WA. 98597
“The American Red Cross is closely monitoring the weather and working with local government and community organizations to determine disaster relief needs throughout the Puget Sound area.
If someone needs to go to a shelter, they should remember to bring:
– prescription and emergency medications,
– extra clothing, pillows, blankets,
– toiletries,
– important documents and other comfort items.
They should remember items needed for infants and children, such as diapers, formula, and toys, along with any special things for family members who are elderly or disabled.
– Pets are not allowed in shelters except in the case of service animals for people with disabilities.”
