Yelm Community Schools in the news

Yelm Community Schools has announced these teachers took honors:

– Lana Yenne Inducted Into WACA Hall of Fame
“Lana Yenne has been a Physical Education teacher at Yelm Middle School for the past 24 years and the Activity Coordinator for 21 of those years.”

“Lana was honored at the 42nd Annual Washington Activity Coordinators Association (WACA) Conference on March 23 as a Hall of Fame Recipient.”

– YHS Teacher Named Sports Medicine Teacher of the Year
“Gary Clinton was named the Sports Medicine Teacher of the Year by the Washington Career and Technical Sports Medicine Association (WCTSMA) during its state convention in Vancouver, WA in April.

Mr. Clinton has taught high school Sports Medicine for 16 years, the last four in Yelm. The Sports Medicine program is one of seven state-recognized career and technical student organizations similar to FFA and FBLA. He currently serves as president of the WCTSMA, having been treasurer in the past.”
