The Yelm City Council members were quite unresolved on the plastic bag issue recently, after receiving correspondence allegedly refuting Terri Thomass presentation earlier this year educating them about plastic bags, while the July 8th Op-Ed in The Olympian said,
“Thurston County should join the growing number of cities and counties banning single-use plastic carry-out bags, but it would be even better if the Washington Legislature acted to avoid a crazy-quilt of bans across the state.”
“Its surprising that Olympia, a city with such a strong environmental constituency, has not yet banned the bags. Seattles ban went into effect at the beginning of the month, joining Bellingham, Mukilteo, Edmonds and Bainbridge Island.”

The City of Yelm will be the last one to adopt this measure, as their lack of reverence for the environmental with their stands on more traffic, more growth, more water applications & lack of care for ground-water run-off from large big box parking lots are now legendary!
