THE WOMEN OPENS AT THE TRIAD ON OCTOBER 18
How times have changed!!!
Or have they?
The STANDING ROOM ONLY theater company invites you to see for yourself in its presentation of Clare Boothes classic comedy, THE WOMEN. This witty and wonderful 30s stage piece, originally a Broadway hit and then a successful film, has a cast of 24 local actresses playing 44 roles. In this expose of the different classes, every possible female prototype is laughingly put on display, including the good wife, the career woman, the social climbing siren, the ever pregnant housefrau, the much married Countess, the innocent newlywed, the confused teenager, the wise matriarch, the vicious gossip, and thats only the upstairs part of the equation. Downstairs, we also have, the maids, cooks, hairdressers, manicurists, exercise instructors, salesgirls, nannies, powder room attendants and cigarette girls who serve their needs. Is there still an ever widening chasm between the haves and the have nots? Have times really changed since then? Form your own conclusion, by attending this hilarious production of THE WOMEN, directed by Nancy Tribush Hillman.
