– From Rick Anderson in The Daily World
“Jason Ronquillo, Hoquiam High Schools head football coach for the past six years, has resigned to take a similar position at Yelm.
The 37-year-old Ronquillo tendered his resignation Monday [Feb. 25] and also announced his decision at a meeting with the HHS players.
Hell succeed Randy Swilley, another former Hoquiam coach, who stepped down at Yelm in early January. The Class 4A Tornados had a 5-5 record last year.
Ronquillo said the move ‘had very little to do with Hoquiam and everything to do with Yelm. For the future of my family, I think the time is right and the area is where I want to be.’
Much of his family, he said, lives along the I-5 corridor.”
