“Citing U.S. debt, Arizona set to OK gold, silver currency” –
Will Washington join Arizona & Utah?

Arizona is on track to become the second state in the nation to recognize gold and silver coins as legal tender, joining Utah as part of a conservative movement stemming from a lack of confidence in the federal reserve and fear that paper money could soon be worthless.
Matt York/AP

“Arizona is on track to become the second state in the nation to recognize gold and silver coins as legal tender. It would join Utah as part of a conservative movement arising out of a lack of confidence in the Federal Reserve and a fear that paper money could become virtually worthless as U.S. debt deflates the value of the dollar.

Supporters consider the move a potential financial savior and envision a day when residents can carry debit cards funded by the gold they hold in special depositories.

Miles Lester, who represents a group called Arizona Constitutional Advocates, said during a recent public hearing on legal-tender legislation that ‘the dollar is on its way out. Its not a matter of if, its a matter of when,’ quoting Alia Beard Rau in The Republic | azcentral.com.

Highest part-time mayor’s salary in county is Yelm’s – WHY?

Ron Harding: Thurston County Deputy Auditor & Yelm Mayor –
earns over $100,000+ at taxpayers trough

The Thurston County Auditor has released 2013 Candidate Filing Information for public offices. Filing Week is May 13 17, 2013.
[Note: The Thurston County Deputy Auditor is Yelm Mayor Ron Harding, so he worked on this Filing info.]

Since the Filing Fee for cities in Thurston County is 1% of their salary, one has to wonder why the City of Yelm has the highest mayor’s salary in the county for a part-time mayor:

Thurston County Part time mayor’s filing fees:
– City of Rainier, $54
– City of Tenino, $10
– City of Tumwater, $183.60 ($18,360 annual salary)
– City of Yelm, $300.00 ($30,000 annual salary)
added to Mr. Harding’s $70,000+ day-job salary as Deputy Thurston County Auditor, so he collects a salary of over $100,000 from area taxpayers!
Why does the Yelm mayor earn more annual salary than the much larger Tumwater?
Hmmm!

Salaries from other Thurston County cities with full-time City Managers
– City of Olympia City Manager, $126,456
– City of Lacey City Manager, $136,320 annually

Editor’s Note:
Mayor Harding has already stated he will run for a third term as mayor.
To date, no one has come forward publicly to announce they will run against him, so he will continue at the trough, unless booted from his Deputy Auditor job after the Nov. election.
[Thurston County states Harding has “a certificate in business from the University of Washington” and is working on “a bachelors degree in business from Western Governors University of Washington.”

The certificate in business from UW is “comprised of six sessions which meet once a week for three hours.”
The bachelors degree in business from Western Governors University of Washington is an online course!
So, Harding is a part-time mayor, full-time Deputy County Auditor AND taking an online business course?].

When Harding first ran for Yelm mayor in 2005, the monthly salary was $1,200 = just under $15,000 annually. Does his “business certificate” demand a 100% salary increase since he became Yelm’s mayor?

Harding’s comparison that Legislators also “double-dip” in other jobs does not hold water because Legislators’ jobs in Olympia are not full-time along with their normal occupations.

“The Bill Of Rights Was Written For Dzhokar Tsarnaev”

“19-year-old Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokar Tsarnaev is in custody. Assuming that Tsarnaev is indeed guilty of these crimes, a very real threat to public safety has been taken off the streets. Thats the good news.

The bad news is that the Tsarnaev brothers have taken the last vestiges of a free society in America down with them.

The Bill of Rights was already on life support before this tragedy. Before the dust settled after 9/11, the 4th Amendment had been nullified by the Patriot Act. The 5th and 6th Amendments were similarly abolished with the Military Commission Act of 2006 and the 2012 NDAA resolution, which contained a clause allowing the president to arrest and indefinitely detain American citizens on American soil without due process of law,”

“Not only did the militarized domestic law enforcement complex put the City of Boston under martial law, but nobody seems to have found it out of the ordinary, much less outrageous. Yes, a few journalists like libertarian Anthony Gregory raised a finger. But, for the most part, nobody seemed to mind that the entire city was under military siege, complete with paramilitary units in full battle gear, battlefield ordinance and tanks. Tanks!”

“The Boston Marathon bombing was a particularly heinous crime. No one with a pulse could help but feel deeply for the parents of an eight-year-old boy killed by this senseless act or the others killed or permanently maimed. Most red-blooded men would have liked nothing better than to have been the one who found Dzhokar Tsarnaev, praying hed resist arrest.

Those are perfectly healthy feelings, but the awful power of the state is not supposed to be set loose based upon feelings. It is supposed to be restrained by reason. God help us if we forget,” quoting Reawakening Liberty by Thomas Mullen.

“Is the Federal Reserve Insane?”
Fed policies, bankers’ misguided lending & Yelm’s hunger for permit revenues led to a ‘Perfect Storm’ for Yelm’s Thurston Highland’s bankruptcy

“Is the Federal Reserve Insane?”

“We now have extensive evidence that the wanton borrowing that fueled the recent housing bubble made the economy vulnerable to the devastating downturn the U.S. endured. This shouldn’t have been surprising. After studying every business cycle experienced by 14 rich countries since 1870, Oscar Jorda, Moritz Schularick and Alan Taylor found that excessive private credit growth systematically predicts deeper downturns and slower recoveries,” quoting Matthew C. Klein for Bloomberg.

Editor’s Note:
City of Yelm officials fed on this “insane” binge by allowing the Thurston Highlands and Tahoma Terra developments to have building permits without proving water at the time of plat approval, with sugar-plum Fairies dancing in their heads from the proposed 6,200 homes’ permit revenue. The lender also loaned funds to the developers on the hype that these two developments were sound (effectively quadrupling Yelm’s population with no added jobs from industry, come on? A new sustainable bedroom community of nearly 15,000 + people) and because the bank’s lending was not based on sound banking principles, they also went bankrupt.
