From Rolf Boone in The Olympian:
“First Citizens Bank will close four branches this summer in Olympia, Centralia, Eatonville and Redmond a spokeswoman for the North Carolina-based bank said Tuesday.
Barbara Thompson said the closures are simply the result of business decisions, although the closure of the downtown Olympia branch was partly spurred by trouble with the building, including problems with its HVAC system.”
“First Citizens Bank & Trust Co. of Raleigh, N.C., has operated in South Sound since Sept. 11, 2009, when it acquired Venture Bank of Lacey, a failed bank that was closed by state regulators and sold to First Citizens in a deal brokered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.”
“First Citizens in Thurston County, after the downtown branch closes, will have branches in Lacey, Tumwater and Yelm. It will have seven remaining branches in Washington, Thompson said.”
