“Registration open for Yelm’s ‘Survivor’ summer camp”

“13th annual event returns Aug. 5-9 at YMS”
“Registration is now open for Yelm’s annual “Survivor Summer Camp.”

Organized by the Yelm Police Department, the camp is open to all students entering grades 7 through 12 within the Yelm and Rainier School Districts.

The City of Yelm will sponsor the first 75 participants and here’s what they can expect:

Participants will be grouped into teams; the overall number of camp participants will determine the size of the teams. Each team will choose a team captain as well as their team name. The teams will compete against one another in various athletic and non-athletic events for points. The team with the most points at the end of the week will be the team champion and get their names and pictures in the local paper.

Events may include, but not limited to the following: Soccer, Tug of War, Long Jump, Running Relays, Water Balloon Toss, FB Throw/Kick, Bicycle Ride, Talent Contest, Wheelbarrow Race, Wall Sitting, Basketball, 3-Legged Race, Shoe Toss Obstacle Course, Softball, and Sprint Races.
