First Election reults are in

– City of Yelm Proposition No. 1 – Community Center and Park Bonds
Yes votes = 379 53.08%
No votes = 335 46.92%
Total Votes = 714 100%
Editor’s Note:
A 60% majority must be tallied for this measure to pass. With 714 total votes to date, voter apathy on this measure is noted.

“A proposition for a community center in Yelm appears to not be passing, according to initial numbers.

Thurston County Elections Supervisor Steve Homan said the proposition required 918 votes with 60 percent of them being yes in order to pass.

Only 714 votes had been tallied Tuesday night, with 53 percent approving the proposition,” quoting The Olympian.

– Bald Hills Fire Protection District No. 17 (Bald Hills) – Proposition No. 1 – Levy Lid Lift
Voter approval is leading 69% to 31%

– County of Thurston Auditor
Rep, Gary Alexander leads 52.55 % to Mary Hall’s strong 47.45% showing.
Editor’s Note:
Hall’s very hefty results against an incumbent Auditor, who also has name recognition as a 9th term State Legislature Representative, demonstrates Alexander is going to have a vigorous challenger in the November election!
