“Thurstons leadership honorees named”

“Leadership Thurston County and its sponsor, Thurston County Chamber Foundation, announced the 2014 Distinguished Leader Award honorees today.

State Senator Karen Fraser is being honored for her public service as an elected official representing Thurston County communities at local and state levels.

Raj Manhas, superintendent of North Thurston Schools, is recognized for his commitment to academic success for all students. Community engagement and building a trusting work culture are some of his strategic focus areas.

Brian Vance, CEO of Heritage Financial Corp. and Heritage Bank, is being recognized for his leadership in the banking industry and his community stewardship. His model emphasizes a business model that focuses on fundamentals, paving the way for business success and contributing to wealth of the community.

The Leadership awards event will be held in late February.”
