From the AP, published in the San Francisco Chronicle:
“The Census Bureau estimates that Seattle grew at a faster rate than any other major American city in the past year.”
“Washington’s population grew by 76,000 and is estimated at 6.97 million.
Ridgefield in Clark County grew at a faster rate than any other city in Washington, with an increase of 7 percent. Other cities with big jumps include Yelm in Thurston County; DuPont in Pierce County and Liberty Lake in Spokane County.”
– CBS News posted this story, as well
As I am on-record saying many times in the mid-2000’s, the grow, grow, grow policies of the City of Yelm to obtain tax revenue will have consequences down the line with increased traffic,air/water pollution, stress, crime, increased taxation and more. All have come to pass as recorded in many stories on this Blog the last 8 years.
Now, Yelm’s growth is making national news via the AP wire story.
I do not look at this as a positive thing for this area, however is the result of Yelm City Hall’s induced plans that continue unabated.
