While Pastor Adams has likely received the message that his continued rants against JZ Knight and Ramtha’s School of Enlightenment (RSE) violated both the intent of his Nisqually Valley News (NVN) “Religious Column” and IRS rules for his church’s non-profit status, both of which he formerly used until recently as a political “bully pulpit,” Pastor Jeff has now taken to his own personal Twitter site to continue his diatribe.
Jeff, hasn’t the time arrived to bury the hatchet?
– Mayor Harding reached out to JZ Knight and RSE after his third term’s inauguration early this year for the betterment of this community. He met with Knight in her home and I provided him a tour of the RSE campus. Mayor Harding stated his purpose was to develop greater understanding amongst all in this community.
This was a landmark achievement at which he arrived.
– When Mayor Harding was elected to his first term in 2005, Yelm had 50% less in population than today. Talk to anyone who moved here since 2005 and they will all tell you they knew about Knight and her school, which did not deter them from moving here. Quite the contrary, they appreciated the students’ businesses and longevity of the school & Knight residing here (over a quarter of a century).
when this city’s mayor and the Chamber of Commerce value JZ Knight, RSE, students’ businesses and all are good neighbors, wouldn’t you be a great leader here to adhere to your Tweet of June 27:
‘Why do we want more grace, patience, love, kindness, etc., from others – more than we are willing to give?
It doesn’t work like that! SMH [“shaking my head”]
COME ON JEFF, IN THE CHRISTIAN SPIRIT, I INVITE YOU TO HOLD HANDS WITH ALL OF US IN THE COMMUNITY FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF ALL.
AFTER ALL, WE ALL MARCHED IN THE SAME PRAIRIE DAYS PARADE TOGETHER!
HASN’T THE TIME ARRIVE TO BURY YOUR HATCHET, JEFF?
Of particular note from July 3, 2014:
“When Beliefs and Facts Collide”
“But we also need to reduce the incentives for elites [i.e. our leaders like Pastor Adams] to spread misinformation to their followers in the first place. Once peoples cultural and political views get tied up in their factual beliefs, its very difficult to undo regardless of the messaging that is used,” quoting Brendan Nylan in the New York Times.
While Adams WILL do what he has done for 9 years now and say this applies to Knight, perhaps Pastor Adams can only relate to scripture, quoting Matthew 7:3 – “Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?”
