Rep. Heck voted against the federal budget

– “Rep. Heck says too many non-spending policies were tucked into federal spending bill”
“U.S. Rep. Denny Heck said Monday he voted against the more than $1 trillion federal budget bill last week that averted a government shutdown, even though it had $39 million for one of his pet budget projects, a new Evergreen Elementary School at Joint Base Lewis McChord that serves special needs students.

The Olympia Democrat said the budget bill had too many policy decisions embedded in it. H.R. 83 passed the House by a vote of 219 to 206 late Thursday and cleared the Senate on Saturday.”

“‘This was my first exposure to this Lets take a big handful of crap and keep putting it in the budget bill. It bothered me,’ Heck said during his quarterly sit-down with The Olympian editorial board,” quoting By Brad Shannon in The Olympian.
