Plastic Bag Ordinances input through tomorrow –
PUBLIC COMMENTS INVITED!

COMMUNITY INPUT NEEDED ON PLASTIC BAG ORDINANCES
Online surveys open through January 15, 2015

“Thurston County Solid Waste is seeking input on the bag ordinances that took effect July 1 in the cities of Tumwater, Olympia, Lacey, and the unincorporated areas of Thurston County. Currently there are 5,200 responses from residents and only 48 from businesses. County staff members are hoping for more feedback from the community before the surveys close on Thursday, January 15.

‘This is your opportunity to share your experiences and let your elected officials know if you support the ordinances or not, so they can decide how best to move forward,’ said Terri Thomas, Education and Outreach Specialist for the county’s Solid Waste Division. ‘We’d really like to have more retailers weigh in, now that the holiday rush is over.'”
