“Speaking at the Horizons Economic Forecast Breakfast this morning [ Jan. 15], Congressman Denny Heck spoke of the grave importance of preventing cuts at Joint Base Lewis-McChord this year.

‘This is about the economy, We cant talk about that without in some way talking about the Joint Base Lewis-Mcchord,’ the legislator said.

‘If the proposed cuts go forward, it would be recession-inducing in the South Sound, and I stand by that.'”

“High estimates show JBLM losing a total of 16,000, though that number has been scaled back in recent months,” quoting the Business Examiner.
