“Losing 11,000 troops from Joint Base Lewis McChord would be “recession inducing,” according to U.S. Representative Denny Heck, D-Olympia.

But Heck said that’s not his biggest concern.

“We should avoid it because it’s not in the best interest of the nation’s security,’ said Heck.”

“Heck said he is taking that argument to Congress as lawmakers look at across-the-board budget cuts in October due to sequestration.”
