SAVE AMERICA’S SOUND
On March 25, 2015, the Puget Sound Recovery Caucus (of which I am co-chair) held its first Puget Sound Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill.
In meetings with Members of Congress and other federal stakeholders, participants reiterated Puget Sound’s importance on a national level, the need for robust levels of federal funding to keep recovery efforts on track, and how federal actions can be more coordinated with existing restoration activities.
Following the momentum of the advocacy day in Washington, DC, the White House announced that Puget Sound will be designated as a “Resilient Landscape” of America.
