Joe Kane
From the Yelm Chamber of Commerce:
Nisqually Land Trust Exec. Dir. speaks Tuesday, July 14 at the Chamber Forum & Luncheon
“Joe Kane is the executive director of the Nisqually Land Trust, the lead nongovernmental conservation organization in the Nisqually River Watershed, and from 2010-2014 he also served as the vice-president of the Washington Association of Land Trusts.”
“Kane will speak about ‘Land Conservation and Economic Development in the Yelm Area.’
The Nisqually Land Trust believes that conservation can succeed over the long term only when local economies are healthy and productive. Kane will describe Land Trust projects being developed in Yelm and also give examples from the Land Trust’s work in Eatonville, where the new Bud Blancher Trail, which combines salmon recovery with recreation and tourism, has quickly become the town’s most popular attraction and an economic driver.”
