Yelm Prairie Elementary Choir invited to sing in Japan

Naoko Sokolik’s Prairie Elementary School top-notch elementary vocal group have been invited to perform in Japan.

From Yelm Community Schools:
The fourth through sixth graders have performed at the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival in Seattle, the Washington State Sister State Celebration at the Capital in Olympia, the Home and Garden shows in Yelm, Japanese New Year Celebration in Olympia, local nursing homes, YCS Music Festivals, the Yelm School Board. Most recently, they have been invited to Japan in September as Washington State Goodwill ambassadors, along with Governor Jay Inslee, to perform at the Sister State ceremony hosted by the Hyogo Prefecture.

– If You Want to Donate for the Choir to be part of Governor’s Delegation
Any business, organization or person interested in donating money to help send a choir of Yelm children to Japan as goodwill ambassadors in September is asked to email YelmPrairieChoir@gmail.com. In the event that the $50,000 needed for the trip to take place is not raised, all donated money will be returned.
