“When the Oso mudslide disaster happened in March of 2014, Teri Simpson left her house in Yelm and volunteered for four months as a disaster reservist — helping people who lost their homes get assistance from FEMA. While she was finding others shelter, her own home was falling apart.”
“‘I’ve needed a roof for so long, when I first heard about the contest, I cried.’ she said.”
“Evening viewers voted her the winner in the Home for the Holidays contest, and Rainier View Construction and Roofing arrived on a damp December day to give this Oso volunteer the gift of a brand new roof,” by Anne Erickson, KING 5 EVENING.
