“Thurston County cities support equal pay for women” –
Yelm is not among them! WHY?

– “Tumwater, Olympia, Lacey and Thurston County announce proclamations for Equal Pay Day”

“Thurston County and its three biggest cities are passing proclamations to support equal pay for women.”

“Women’s advocacy groups have proclaimed Tuesday (April 12) as Equal Pay Day to raise awareness of the pay gap.”

“Thurston County falls below those national averages, with women earning about 68 percent of their male counterparts’ wages, according to the YWCA of Olympia,” quoting Andy Hobbs, The Olympian.

As a founding Board member of the Yelm Business Assn. (YBA), I ask why the City of Yelm is not in this proclamation? This is good for our local women in business!
Why is this not being publicly/officially considered and on the City Council Agenda tomorrow, WHICH HAS NO BUSINESS SCHEDULED?
