Beginning today, the Yelm Community Blog will post stories of interest daily during Earth Week, which culminates on Earth Day, April 22.

The first story below highlights how a multi-national company with a major presence in Yelm, Safeway, is now carrying Northwest-grown organic produce, which lowers the carbon footprint of obtaining our food, while benefiting our local growers. Previous stories covered here have shown that locally sourced food is better for area residents, since the environment in which the food is grown is also where we live, and to which our bodies are accustomed.
