“Area code 564 has been approved by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission as an overlay of area code 360 with an implementation date of August 28, 2017. Effective in the fall of 2017 ten digit dialing (area code + seven digit number) will be necessary in the 360/564 overlay. In the future area code 564 may be expanded to overlay area codes 206, 253 and 425. To prepare for this future expansion ten digit dialing will also be required in area codes 206, 253 and 425 in late 2017.
