On Friday, January 20, 2017, Thurston County Superior Court Judge Carol Murphy rejected Glen Morgan’s request for dismissal of a lawsuit against his negative election campaign robocalls about Democratic candidates, which displayed false caller-ID numbers associated with the Democratic Party or its individual members. The Court ruled that Morgan violated federal law. The timing of Morgan’s school board resignation coincides with the court’s decision, as he now has to gear-up for a court case. This issue was extensively covered on this Blog October 24, 2016.

– “Glen Morgan resigns from Rochester School Board, leaving vacancy”
“Glen Morgan has resigned his seat on the Rochester School Board.”
“Morgan is heavily involved in land use rights, and is a former staffer of the Freedom Foundation, a conservative think tank. He was recently named in a lawsuit over a series of robocalls that his political groups, Friends of Jimmy and We Want to Be Friends of Jimmy, Too, sponsored against Olympia City Council member Jim Cooper during Cooper’s unsuccessful bid for Thurston County Commissioner,” quoting Lisa Pemberton, The Olympian.
