Rep. Wilcox sponsors Yelm Middle School students as House pages

– Yelm Middle School students serve Rep. Wilcox as house pages
“Yelm Middle School students Lyra Toulon and Sophie Hall traveled to Olympia last week to serve as pages in the state House from Jan. 9-13. They were sponsored by their 2nd District Rep. J.T. Wilcox, R-Yelm.

As part of their page duties, Lyra and Sophie learned to navigate the many buildings on the Capitol campus and delivered messages and documents to legislators and staff. They also attended page school every day to understand the operations and actions of the Legislature.”

“Students spend a week attending page school, learning the inner workings of state government and assisting legislators on the House floor. Pages earn $35 per day while serving in the program,” quoting Washington State House Republican Communication.
