– Gerald “Jerry” Hilman passes – benefactor to Yelm’s public community arts scene
Nancy Hillman, founder and former creative director of Yelms Drew Harvey Theater and Standing Room Only (SRO) Productions has announced that her former husband Gerald “Jerry” Hillman passed away early on Friday, February 3, 2017. While Nancy Hillman was the progenitor of a public community theater in our town, Jerry Hillman “was responsible for the financial support that started the Drew Harvey Theater” and continued his interest and support for the theater arts here. Jerry Hillman was a devoted father, and he and Nancy have two daughters, Avriel and Rachel, who each have also been on-stage at the Drew.
Jerry Hillman lived life to the fullest and made an impact in whatever he endeavored to pursue or take an interest.

The Yelm Community Blog sends love and blessings to the Hillman Family in their loss.
Standing Room Only’s Dawn Young tells the Yelm Community Blog her “song this weekend at the Valentine’s Show at the Triad is dedicated to Jerry. Bushel and a Peck from Guys & Dolls, the last show I remember him sitting in the front row for at the Drew.”
This community owes a huge amount of gratitude and appreciation for Jerry Hillman’s contributions along with Nancy Hillman’s passion and vision.
