– “Inslee signs tougher distracted driving bill into law”
“Gov. Jay Inslee has signed a measure that bans holding hand-held devices while driving.
The measure, signed by Inslee in Tacoma Tuesday [May 16], prohibits holding an electronic device – including phones, tablets and other electronic devices – while driving, including while in traffic or waiting for a traffic light to change.
Inslee vetoed a section that had the measure take effect in 2019. He said it was too important to wait for the provisions to become law. The law will now take effect in mid-July,” quoting the AP, via KING 5 – TV.

– “Washington becomes latest state to seek ID compliance”
“You’ll be able to use your Washington State driver’s license to board commercial flights until October 2020, thanks to a bill Governor Jay Inslee signed Tuesday [May 16].
“It brings Washington State into compliance with the REAL ID Act,” said Tony Sermonti, legislative director for the Washington Department of Licensing,” quoting Heather Bosch, KING 5 TV.
