– “Nisqually Red Wind Casino celebrating 20 years”
“Nisqually Red Wind Casino is commemorating its 20th anniversary during the month of May, amidst an expansion that will yield more casino space and an adjacent hotel.
“The celebration will include $220,000 in prizes over the course of the month, said General Manager Cheebo Frazier.”
“‘The economic benefits and employment opportunities of Nisqually Red Wind Casino ripple throughout this region. We can be proud of the casino’s many positive impacts,’ added Farron McCloud, chair of the Nisqually Tribal Council.”
“The facility, located east of Olympia, started out in 1997 as a bingo hall but has grown to 95,000 sq. ft. of casino space with 1,500 slot machines, four restaurants, a sports pub, a bar, a gift shop and a 1,000-space parking garage.”
“Gaming revenues from the casino are used to fund support services for tribal members and provide operational funding for many area non-profit agencies and organizations,” quoting the Business Examiner.
