– City of Yelm Public Hearing Revenue Sources
AD VALOREM TAX RATE, BUDGET YEAR 2018
The City of Yelm has scheduled a Public Hearing to receive comment on the Revenue Sources for the 2018 Budget, as part of the Tuesday, October 10, 2017 City Council meeting. The Public Hearing will consider Property Tax Rates (Ad Valorem) for collection in 2018. The meeting will be held at the Yelm Public Safety Building, 206 McKenzie Ave.
– The Yelm City Council will hold a Public Hearing to consider the 2018 Budget
Highlights include: hiring two more police officers, adding a development review engineer to streamline business and construction permits, building new sidewalks to keep kids safe, and investing more resources to care for our parks and aging infrastructure. The budget also funds reserve accounts that were recently developed by Mayor Foster and the Finance Committee to more transparently account for funds, save for a ‘rainy day,’ and replace necessary equipment (like 7 new police cars in 2018) to better serve our citizens. The 2018 proposed budget is balanced, increases services to the public, and is sustainable with the first multi-year budget forecast to foster long-term planning.
