“Any resident of Thurston County can attest to its culture, history and scenery. Alleyways in downtown Olympia are adorned with murals by local artists. The water beneath the city springs from an artesian well. And, the Capitol Building’s majesty is the cherry on top of the scenic sundae.”

“If only there was a succinct list of these iconic places and a way to document and share them with our community and the visitors we welcome year after year?

“Experience Olympia & Beyond has launched a new social media campaign that shares iconic and historic locations around the county. I spoke with Director of Marketing and Communications, Moira Davin, to get all the details on the new “Selfie Spots.” The concept was created through research conducted about visitor foot traffic and locations that were consistently tagged on social media.”

“Selfie Spots are exactly what they sound like. Twenty-one locations throughout Thurston County have been identified on what Moira refers to as a “social media scavenger hunt.” Each location was chosen based on its historical significance or iconic standing in the community.
