– From Yelm Community Schools:
“City of Yelm Adding Sidewalks by Ft Stevens Elementary”
“Excited to share that the city received a grant to add sidewalks along 100th Way S across from Fort Stevens Elementary and meet up with sidewalks on Grove St. According to Patrick T. Hughes, Public Works Program and Projects Manager, they are reviewing the plans. He anticipates the city will be going out to bid after school is out and complete construction over the summer. There will be no disruption to traffic before school is dismissed.”

“YHS Access Road Begins Construction”
“Road construction begins … to create another access to Yelm High School. Bria Jackson, 2017-18 ASB President, and Malory Mathson, 2018-19 ASB President, helped in the “Ground Breaking.” They are also assisting in the process of students voting on the name of the road. Target completion is August 28. Just in time for school to start and reduce traffic on Yelm Avenue during peak start and end times of school. All construction starts with tree removal and no work will take place on the YHS campus (parking lot) until school is out for the summer.”
