– “Radiation from smartphones could trigger memory loss in teenagers (and right-handed users are the most likely to suffer), new study reveals”
* Cumulative exposure to mobile phones negatively affects the figural memory
* This refers to our ability to make sense of objects, patterns and shapes
* Sending text messages and browsing the internet could also affect this ability
“Smartphone radiation could be destroying the memory performance of a new generation of adolescents, a troubling new study has warned.”
“Researchers from the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) studied nearly 700 adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 in Switzerland,” by Phoebe Weston, UK’s Daily Mail.

– “Despite Clear Evidence of Harm, Mobile Phone Industry Fights to Keep You Ignorant of the Risks”
* The International Agency for Research on Cancer classified cellphones as a Group 2B “possible carcinogen” based on the evidence available in 2011. Since then, the evidence of harm has grown significantly
* This year, two major studies have been published showing cellphone radiation causes DNA damage and increases your risk of cancer and other health problems
* Researchers are urging the IARC to upgrade its carcinogenicity classification for cellphones from a “possible” to a “probable” human carcinogen based on newer evidence
* For the past 25 years, the telecommunications industry has led an orchestrated PR campaign aimed at misleading consumers, journalists and policymakers about the science of cellphone radiation
* Of 326 cellphone safety studies, 56 percent found a biological effect from cellphone radiation while 44 percent did not. When funding was analyzed, it was discovered that 67 percent of the independently funded studies found a biological effect, compared to just 28 percent of the industry-funded studies. This funding bias creates a perceived lack of scientific consensus

How about this?
Commentary: “Blue Light Emitted From Smartphones And Laptops Accelerates Blindness – Study” [08/12/18] “Blue light emitted from smartphone and laptop screens speeds up blindness by transforming vital molecules in the eye’s retina into cell killers, according to new research. The study, carried out by optical chemistry researchers at the University of Toledo, explains how exposure to blue light can cause age-related macular degeneration – one of the leading worldwide causes of blindness. “It’s no secret that blue light harms our vision by damaging the eye’s retina. Our experiments explain how this happens, and we hope this leads to therapies that slow macular degeneration, such as a new kind of eye drop,” study co-author Ajith Karunarathne said. […] Macular degeneration occurs when photoreceptor cells in the retina die – these cells need molecules called retinal in order to sense light and trigger signals to the brain. During lab experiments, the team found that blue light exposure causes retinal to trigger reactions that generate poisonous chemical molecules in photoreceptor cells. “It’s toxic. If you shine blue light on retinal, the retinal kills photoreceptor cells as the signaling molecule on the membrane dissolves,” study co-author Kasun Ratnayake said. The cells do not regenerate, so “when they’re dead, they’re dead for good,” Ratnayake added. […] “The retinal-generated toxicity by blue light is universal. It can kill any cell type,” Karunarathne said. Blue light alone or retinal without blue light had no effect on cells, however. The lab currently is measuring light coming from television, cell phone and tablet screens to get a better grasp of how the cells in the eyes respond to everyday blue light exposure. Details of the research have been published in Scientific Reports. So much for these ‘Blue Rooms’ that are springing up. Inadvertently, they may be contributing to this problem …. all the users … use smartphones, etc. But, because they are profit makers, the people will not be told and things will continue as normal … because typically, the people don’t matter, only money matters. Too bad.

Blu Room users are required to wear eye shades and have eyes closed, therefore the retina is not directly exposed to the blue light as your RT commentary mentions as is the case of directly viewing blue light emitted from smartphones and laptops.
