– Editor’s note:
With the county Auditor’s ballot voting update this afternoon, Tye Menser has steadily held his 750-800+ vote lead since the Nov. 6th election. With only 400 votes left to count, Menser still maintains a .70% lead (808 votes), indicating he is set to be the winner, defeating incumbent Republican turned Independent Bud Blake. The election will be certified November 27th.

Unlike his opponent who never visited Yelm during his 4 years in office to conduct a public forum with SE Thurston constituents, Menser visited Yelm twice during the campaign and participated in robust Q & A sessions here: September 19 and October 12. While Mayor Foster and the city council members were notably absent at either of these forums, they should reach out soon to establish dialogue with the assumptive county-commissioner-elect, and invite him to a council meeting!
