First-ever Yelm Menorah Lighting, Hanukah Celebration, Mon., Dec. 3

– First ever Menorah lighting and Hanakah celebration, Yelm City Park
At the November 27, 2018, Yelm city council session, Mayor Foster announced that Chabad Jewish Center of Olympia reached out to the city and asked for a Hanukah Menorah Lighting ceremony at Yelm City Park. The city agreed and the event will occur on Monday, Dec 3, at 5:30 p.m. This celebration will replace the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. There will be Hot Latkes, Donuts, Chocolate Gelt (money), music, and a 9-foot tall Menorah, which will be displayed throughout the 8 day Hanukah holiday.
