Weather Service issues Flood Watch: another week of heavy rain in the forecast!

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a * Flood Watch * … including the following counties…. In west central Washington, King, Lewis, Pierce, Snohomish, and Thurston.

* From Wednesday morning through Friday afternoon *

Another round of moderate to heavy rainfall [between 1 and 3 inches in the lowlands] is expected tonight into early Friday. Rivers and streams are expected rise again, with some rivers reaching flood stage as early as Wednesday afternoon. The current forecast puts the heaviest precipitation over the central Cascades with the highest potential for flooding on rivers flowing out of the Cascades in Snohomish, King, and Pierce counties but other rivers may also reach flood stage. In addition, heavy rainfall may cause urban and small stream flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor latest forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
