I am very saddened to hear this, it is a real loss to the area and for those whose jobs are eliminated. They were an asset to the community and will be missed. Thank you Sunbirds for your service to the Yelm and surrounding community !

Wow ! What a major disappointment, not only for our community that has loved shopping at this wonderful store, but also for me personally. I have always felt an attachment of some sort, like it is part of our ‘town family’.
I shall miss it very much.

I am saddened by yet another long-time business beloved by many, going away. I prefer to be able to see products and try-on shoes without the hassle of on-line “vendors” whose quality and craftsmanship can be “iffy”. The hypocrisy is that the way of business has changed and not always for the good. First it was Jayhawks, then Dell’s, now it is Sunbirds.
May a better business (and model) come forth that serves our entire community.
