By Sara Gentzler, The Olympian:

“A 30-year-old Thurston County woman died Wednesday night after suffering a gunshot wound, the Sheriff’s Office says. Investigators suspect her husband fatally shot her.

“Just before 8 p.m. Wednesday, the 32-year-old man called 911 dispatch from their home in the 21900 block of Beachside Drive Southeast in the Clearwood community, southeast of Yelm, Lt. Ray Brady told The Olympian. The man told dispatchers CPR was in progress, Brady said, and there was mention of a gun going off accidentally.

“When deputies and responders with the Bald Hills Fire Department arrived, they found the 30-year-old woman with a gunshot wound, Brady said. She died at the scene.”

“Four children, all under age 10, were at home during the incident, according to Brady. The children were not physically harmed, Brady said; the Sheriff’s Office took custody of the children and turned them over to Child Protective Services.” Read more
