
Police ask for help solving Yelm hit-and-run, severely injured 12-year-old boy
“I am Lacey Police Detective Jon Mason on behalf of Crime Stoppers of the South Sound. The Yelm Police department requests your help in solving this crime of the week.
“On Sunday, May 24th, 2020, just after midnight a vehicle versus pedestrian collision occurred on Mountain View Road Northwest in Yelm. The victim, a juvenile, sustained severe injuries. The vehicle fled the scene leaving the victim lying in the road. The victim was conscious, but not able to identify the vehicle. Parts of a Ford vehicle were found at the scene. The witness who called 911 described the vehicle as a silver or white Ford pickup with a silver toolbox in the bed. He also saw that truck drive by again heading to Yelm Avenue. The truck would have sustained damage to the passenger side.
