  1. LOCAL, COUNTY, STATE AND NATIONAL NEWS

I agree with commissioner Edwards. De-funding the police is not the answer. “Who you gonna call?” If anything more funding of our police forces is necessary. Funding should target retraining our policing forces. Has anyone seen the British video of an insane man wielding a machete and threatening the police and public? He was subdued by the policemen and arrested. In the USA he would have been shot dead within seconds or minutes of the confrontation especially if he were a black man.

  2. To put in perspective, with over 70% of Thurston County’s budget expending for justice, i.e. courts, jail, sheriff’s office, etc., and the budget being severely impacted by the pandemic, across the board budget cuts were required, which includes justice depts.

  3. PS on previous comment the machete wielding man was subdued, detained and sent to the hospital.

  5. QAnon followers are falling victim to the observation that for all the ‘good’ that President Trump has done, QAnon advocates refuse to acknowledge his shadow. A shadow that is playing with arrogant illusions of power that border on grandiose delusions.
